Zen and the Art of Motorcycling!

rv

For those who know me, know that I am a Motorcycle buff! The whole reason that I got into Roadies was for the bike…so you can understand my level of obsession. Antoine Predock said “The connection to place, to the land, the wind, the sun, stars, the moon… it sounds romantic, but it’s true – the visceral experience of motion, of moving through time on some amazing machine – a few cars touch on it, but not too many compared to motorcycles. I always felt that any motorcycle journey was special.”

It is so true. A car cannot even come near to the feeling that I get when I am on my motorcycle. Cars are sanitized, air conditioned, little bubbles or extension of our home.

You cannot feel nature from the inside of a car the way you can while riding a bike. You cannot feel the true thrill of being on the road from within a car.

You need to hear the wind, to feel the rain on your face, to burn under the parching sun, and then you shall have known the true joys of motorcycling!

Riding a motorcycle gives you a sense of freedom in itself like nothing else. The knowledge that you can cruise off to wherever that you want to and whichever part of the world that you want to, gives you that that pleasure and feeling of self sufficiency. You may be bogged down with responsibilities in the real world, you may be answerable to a million people. But when you are on the bike, it is just your head in that helmet and you- a person as a whole. No relations, no obligations, just you and the motorcycle. The wind in your hair, unending road to magical places, what else does one need?

Riding is like achieving Zen. While I am constantly keeping an eye out for the road, the speed I am cruising on, which lane to switch to, the angle of the vehicle, possible hazards on the road, it is like a meditative activity. Just me and my bike. It also allows a connection to the world around. You are at liberty to stop, touch and feel nature around you, stay as long as you wish and then move on ahead at your own pace.

Planning to take off, camp wherever you wish you and spend a night under the stars. Carry your stuff in the Gunner. Classic and brave, just like you!

Also you have to admit that it is a very convenient form of transportation. If you chose it as your ride in the city it can get you to places faster and zip through traffic much easily than a larger vehicle.

Trying to get around in the urban jungle. You need to stash your stuff in the offbeat and super stylish Urban Flux.

Believe it or not, motorcycling is a healthier choice. Motorcycles have to go through strict environmental checks and therefore the emissions are lesser plus you actually burn calories while riding one! Win-win situation for you as well as Mother Nature.

And ofcourse, the need for speed. The thrill of zoom. One definitely needs to be able to control the risks he takes, be careful while pushing your limits, but enjoy the ride nevertheless! So get out and get cruising.

Hey just wanted to give you a quick heads up.
The text in your post seem to be running off the screen in Opera.
I’m not sure if this is a format issue or something to do with internet browser compatibility but I thought I’d
post to let you know. The style and design look great though!
Hope you get the issue resolved soon. Many thanks
