Before we start preparing our own wardrobe, we go about idea hunting on social media. Facebook, Instagram and the works. This time around, scrolling down the feed, all I could see was pastels and more pastels! From my friends to celebrities, everyone is into them!!
The rules for this festive season have therefore been rewritten, loud is out muted in! The palette to incorporate in your wardrobe is pastels.
Take your favourite colour and dull it and voila! That is the colour to don!
Baby blues, mint greens, old rose, dull yellow and dusky pinks are such soothing colours to look at and to wear. They also act a great canvas for traditional thread work, bead work and mirror work. The work pops out on these colours and stand out better rather than getting lost on a dark base.
The other thing about these hues is that they are very versatile and complement any skin tone, light or dark. You don’t have to think twice about picking an outfit in a pastel shade. Not only that, these colours suits any type of dress. You could pick out a sari or an Anarkali, an Indo Western or a Gown in pastels and look great!
If monotone isn’t your thing then mix and match and add an accented detail. You could go for neon pastels or pair two pastel shades together. Floral in pastel colours are also big nowadays, chose the lighter brighter hues for the day and more muted ones for the evening.
How about carrying this Sling bag in pastel to look in fashion this season?
