That time of the year again. Torrential rains, overcast skies and depressing muddy puddles. To overcome the dullness of the weather try and electrify your outfits!
Bring in a splash of cheer by embracing the neon way of life. Fluorescent hues and cheerful colours are the way to go to beat the blues…. Or in this case the greys! The trick is to not overdo the colours. Wear neon’s or bright colours in bursts; break the monotony of monochrome with a splash of brightness.
Here are tips on how to dress in neon’s without seeming too risqué.
Neutralize the Neon
Don’t go full neon, or combination of bright colours altogether. Team up the fluorescent with a neutral shade. So a crème top with a bright bottom or a neon coloured top with a black or beige trousers. This way the focus remains on that one bright colour in your outfit.

Work with contrasts. Wear colours that are on the opposite spectrum of the colour wheel. Black contrasts well with all the neon colours. Blue with red, beige with orange so on and so forth. Be bold and wear what you feel comfortable in.

If you are not ready to go neon or bright all the way, then wear it in patterns. Solid and bright can be intimidating. Try out stripes or checks or any other design which subdues the neon and yet offers you that space to be bright.
If you want to wear neon’s but not on yourself for the whole day then your options are to accessorize in neon’s. If you want to be more subtle, you could team a black outfit with pop pink footwear and or a similarly bright handbag. You could wear a bright coloured belt or even some rad bangles or necklace to offset your outfit. This way the fluorescence isn’t too in your face.

Glow in the dark
Throw subtlety out of the window. Go the whole hog and unconventional. Glow-in-the-dark trend works best in the night time. The outfit might look normal and regular during the day but in enclosed dark spaces it takes on a different character with a neon effect. Hairdos in neon shades are the thing now. Colouring your hair with certain dyes make them glow in the dark. Infact this trend is spilling over to make up too. You have crazy coloured eye shadows and cheek tints apart from lippers ofcourse, to make you stand apart from the crowd.
