Jute is a future fabric, jute is the future, and jute is amazing!
You’ve normally seen it on the gunny bags that bring the onions home, or maybe cement during renovation times in Diwali.
But this ultra-versatile fabric is great for a host of things that look great and aren’t gunny bags!
It’s strong, fully biodegradable, temperature and moisture controlling, long-lasting, picks on any color, and can write your exams for you and rescue you from years of friend-zoning.
The last two points are still under research, but we’ll put it there anyway—you know how the news works these days!
We scoured the world for some of the coolest examples of jute being used in kick-ass ways (so that you don’t have to, are we amazing?)
Check it out below!
Burlap Wine bag
Neatly compartmentalized, lightweight and strong for even an extra tipple or two. A perfect addition for any picnic bag or house-party that’s going to get crazy. You can fold it and carry it back easily too!
Handles can usually get really boring! They’re the same color, material, and feel like the bag. Add some character and a natural look to your bags with this amazing jute bag handle. Looks rustic, works like a charm!
Artisan tote bags
Bring the local art alive on your bag with a material that’s just perfect for day shopping. With great arts like warli, ikkat, ajrakh, Kashmiri, kalamkari, and more—we’ve got so many options that you can simply get made through local artisans. If you’re feeling international—aztec prints like the one below are just the designs for you.
Gifting Bread Bags
If you’ve eaten at a fancy restaurant that starts the meal with a nice bread basket (usually stale, but okay)—then you’ve seen the infamous bread bag. It sucks out of the moisture and keeps the bread warm—but can add some unwanted stringy fibers to the bite. But they’re amazing for gifting options. Warm and cutesy—you can share your bachelorette hampers or baby shower giveaways easily.
Get a nice change to your wardrobe with something different. Vinyl, leather, and suede can get boring. Bring texture and uniqueness to your ensemble by choosing a more rustic, yet classy clutch bag with beautiful woven jute.
