Burgundy,Plums And Wine..The Christmas Colours!

Wine-colour

I was applying nail polish the other day and I completely glossed over all the corals, pinks and oranges and picked a deep blood maroon. It then struck me, with the change in season; my colour choices also make an unconscious shift.

With the drop in temperature, you are inclined towards darker and more warming colours. Black is always the go to choice for most people, I mean when in doubt go black!

Nevertheless, there are richer colours that stand out with a character of their own such as deep maroons, port, burgundy, wine and mauves.

They pair up well with earthy colours in contrast and also with the metallics such as copper and gold.

Each year the Pantone Colour Institute comes out with the colours for the year and breaks them up season wise too. The palate is sure to feature a colour from the deep red family features in the fall selection.

When you think of Christmas parties what do you think of? Mulled wine and plum cakes, Santa and fireplaces…am I right?  You dress up in reds and all associated colours and your make up is deeper and more striking….so I am not the only one who embraces these beautiful colours during the ho ho ho season…we all do!!

These berry hued colours are evergreen and classic, so when you are confused, you know which colours to gravitate towards!

How about treating yourself to a bag in this colour scheme? We have some great options for you!
