A Diwali Party To Remember

No better way to your friends and family under one roof than to throw a stellar Diwali do!

This is the perfect time to get back to your roots and revel in tradition.

Here are tips to throw a party your guests will speak of for years to come!

First up decide on a theme. It could be simple such a colour and then add on to it by matching your outfit and décor and even the food could be colour coordinated!

Ambience and Décor

Diyas and rangolis are perfect to get everyone in the mood, but think a little out of the box. Do a thorough Pinterest research on some great ideas on decoration. The lighting should be ethereal. Switch off the loud glaring ones and string fairy lights all of the room. Let them illuminate the ambience. Make homa made torans and string along flowers to give a boho chic feel to the party.

Games and Activities

Cards are the all time favourite and of course traditional route to follow. Teen patti, rummy and uno for the uninitiated! Charades is another great game for a large crowd, and later into the night when everyone is happy and in the mood, antakshari is the way to go! For kids you can engage them in a paint your own diya contest or even a drawing competition!

Food and Drinks

Make sure there is enough finger food to go around. Look up some interesting cocktails and mocktails to wow your guests. With all the chitter chatter and games happening, dinner usually takes places in the wee hours of the night. Keep your main menu simple and to the point and you could deviate from the mithai route and try out some western dessert to satiate the sweet tooth.

Dressing up

Usually as far as dressing is concerned, ethnic is the way to go, but you could be bold and go the avant garde route, chose a funky dress up theme for all your guests and have fun!! Make sure you team up your outfit with a nice bold clutch or bag, Vdesi has some great options for you to chose from!
