Stereotypes And How To Deal With Them

The moment you’re born, in the hospital, you’re wrapped in a towel. And its color screams out loud your gender.

It’s usually pink if you’re a girl and blue if you’re a boy. It’s an age-old tradition that everyone follows to the T, without knowing why; and what ensues is a string of gender stereotypes that have girls playing with kitchen sets when they are kids and boys playing with toy cars and guns.

As young parents, it’s our duty to help our kids break away from these stereotypes at an early age.

  1. Make sure that both your son and daughter have the same errands to run inside or outside the house, and not base them on their gender.
  2. Encourage your kids to take up hobbies that don’t pertain to their gender. Make up set for a boy and cricket bat for a girl are perfect examples to lead the way
  3. Help them respect each other not because of their gender, but because of the humans that they are at the core.

Shower your kids with these backpacks that will help them break the stereotypein their schools.
